Dear ARPA Swimmers, Coaches, Parents and everyone who played a role in the 2010 ARPA Swimming & Diving Championships,

First, I want to thank all of you for being a part of parks and recreation in Alabama. As adults, I see very few things that can rival the importance of being actively involved in teaching our children how to win, how to lose, how to be respectful, how to be gracious, how to be humble, how to set goals, and how to exceed them. As athletes, it was a great weekend watching you give everything that you had to perform perfect dives, drop your times, and even win against some of the best athletes in our state. Volunteers... to put it simply, this swim meet does not happen without you putting in massive amounts of time and effort to make everyone feel welcome and to run every aspect of the meet. My thanks to all of you.

Next, I want to congratulate this year's participants. Swimmers who dropped times, divers who set new high scores, medal winners, ribbon winners, and trophy winners made the 2010 state meet one that will not be soon forgotten. Congratulations to all of this year's state champs - you have earned it. Congrats to the coaching staffs from Madison, Prattville, Scottsboro, and Cullman for preparing your teams to take home the trophies.

Finally, I would like to ask for some feedback. How did our city treat you? Could you find your way around the building? Could you find your way around the city? What would have made the meet more enjoyable? What would have made the meet run smoother? We strive to do the best job that we can with the assets that we have and would welcome any positive... or negative feedback that you can give that would help us improve in the future.
